The National Examinations Council (NECO) has refuted claims that its Registrar, Godswill Obioma, was assassinated.

NECO, in a statement issued by its Director of Human Resources, Abdul Mustapha, yesterday, said Obioma died of a brief illness.
According to the statement, Mustapha stated that the son of the deceased had informed the management of the agency that his father was not assassinated but died in his sleep as a result of heart failure.

The statement was signed by Godswill Obioma the second, and addressed to the Council’s Director of Human Resources.
